Earlier this week, when researching something for a forthcoming project, a writing GIF somehow come across my screen. This led me down a long and winding rabbit hole of writing-related GIFs. As I sat at my desk looking at a huge screen of moving GIFs, my brain picked out the ones that told my recent writing journey. I thought I'd share. =D

When I start...
After ten minutes...
Getting desperate...
Later that day...
Then inspiration strikes...
But nothing seems right...
Try something new...
Take a break...
Complain to my journal...
The next day...
And the next...
Add four teenagers...
Until one day...
And finally... somehow...
Only to begin again the next day...
The past year has been a tough one, both personally and in my writing life. But I've learned sticking to my writing practice helps. So does lots of hot tea, good books, vegan ice cream, hiking, and crying. And taking a (very long) break to look at (way too many) GIFs. I recommend it if you need a breather from the page.
