My name is Kaecey McCormick, and I'm writer & artist located in the San Francisco Bay Area. My poetry and prose has found a home in many online and print journals including Poet Lore, The Baltimore Review, Pinch Journal, Clockhouse, and many others, as well as my chapbooks, Sleeping with Demons (2023) and Pixelated Tears (2018). 

 

I served as Poet Laureate for the city of Cupertino, California (2018–2020), and my writing has received numerous honors, including the Connecticut Poetry Prize, the Dare to Dream Poetry Prize, multiple awards in the Joy Bale Boone Poetry Prize, among others. I currently teach creative writing workshops at The Writers Studio and Book Inc.

Visual art is a natural extension of my imaginative side, helping fuel my creative writing. I work intuitively, from a place of intention, and change my tools and materials when it feels right.  

 

When I'm not writing or making art, I'm hiking in the beautiful hills and mountains of Northern California, spending time with my family, or curled up in my favorite chair reading a book.
